Appointments are for serious and committed individuals. It is important to follow pre- and post-care instructions to ensure the best results and protect your investment.

1. Consultation:

• Schedule a consultation with your artist to discuss desired outcomes, potential allergies, and any medical conditions.
• Perform a patch test if recommended by the artist.

2. Avoid Caffeine & Certain Medications:

• Stop taking blood-thinning medications (e.g., aspirin, ibuprofen) at least 48 hours before the procedure, unless advised otherwise by a doctor.
• Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and energy drinks for 3-5 days prior to the appointment.

3. Skin Preparation:

• Avoid tanning, sunbathing, or using tanning beds for at least a week before the procedure.
• Do not get any facial treatments (e.g., chemical peels, microdermabrasion) at least two weeks prior.

4. Hydrate and Nourish:

• Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to the appointment.
• Moisturize the area to be tattooed daily.

5. Medication and Supplements:

• Avoid using Retin-A, Retinol, or any other skin-thinning products on the area for at least two weeks before the appointment.

• Eat a light meal before arriving to keep blood sugar levels stable.
• Wear comfortable clothing and be prepared to sit or lie down for an extended period.

• Keep the area clean and dry. Gently blot with a clean tissue if needed.
• Avoid touching the tattooed area with unwashed hands.

2. Cleaning:

• Clean the area gently with a mild, fragrance-free soap and water.
• Pat dry with a clean tissue or paper towel.

3. Moisturizing:

• Apply a thin layer of aftercare ointment provided by your artist.
• Avoid over-moisturizing as it can cause the scabs to become too soft.

4. Avoid:

• Do not pick, scratch, or peel at the scabs or flaking skin.
• Avoid direct sunlight, tanning beds, saunas, hot tubs, and swimming pools for at least two weeks.
• Avoid makeup and skincare products on the area until fully healed.

5. Protection:

• Wear a wide-brimmed hat and use sunblock on the area after it’s healed to protect against UV rays.

6. Healing Process:

• The tattoo will go through several phases of healing, including scabbing and fading. This is normal.
• Follow up with your artist for any touch-ups or adjustments for desired and finalizing touches.

7. Long-Term Care:

• Continue to protect the area from excessive sun exposure.
• Schedule regular touch-ups as recommended by your artist to maintain the tattoo’s appearance.
